The Challenge

UNI Paychek, a unique form of early salary credit, wanted to introduce their product in a way that would effortlessly fit into the lives of their target audience – young couples and individuals building themselves steadily.

The idea was to showcase how UNI Paychek could help alleviate common financial challenges faced by this demographic, such as missed credit card due dates or rent payments, in a relatable and authentic manner.

The Treatment

In collaboration with the creative team, we embraced the idea of capturing the nuances of everyday life and relationships through a series of films. The narratives revolved around relatable scenarios, such as a couple planning their anniversary, a tailor managing her business, and the relationships shared with family members or loved ones.

The films aimed to portray UNI Paychek as a seamless solution to financial constraints, subtly woven into the fabric of the characters’ lives, enabling them to focus on their dreams and aspirations without worrying about due dates or missed payments.

The films included two main narratives, portraying a heartwarming conversation between a young couple planning their anniversary over a candlelit dinner at home, exploring the relationship between the couple as their landlady arrives to collect rent, along with three supporting mini-films, the elderly master tailor getting surprised with a new sewing machine, taking husband’s opinion on which beach outfit to pack for vacation and impending rent increases year by year.

Each film offered a unique perspective on how UNI Paychek could alleviate financial burdens, fostering a sense of empowerment and freedom for the characters to pursue their passions and build their lives.

The Craft

The films were meticulously crafted to create an authentic and relatable experience for the audience. The production design and colour palettes were carefully curated to reflect the lives of the characters, with a mix of vintage and modern elements, creating a cosy and lived-in atmosphere.

The lighting techniques employed aimed to strike a balance between warmth and vibrancy, ensuring that the characters’ faces were well-lit and their emotions were conveyed effectively.

The wardrobe choices were casual and comfortable, reflecting the at-home settings, while also allowing for subtle differences in attire to convey character traits and relationships.

The music and editing were designed to complement the emotions of the scenes without overpowering the dialogue, enhancing the atmosphere and mood while maintaining a seamless and well-paced storytelling experience.

Through these thoughtful creative choices, the films aimed to forge a genuine connection with the audience, showcasing UNI Paychek’s seamless integration into the lives of its target demographic.
