This is how we ensure our clients pay for excellence when they partner with us:

1. Choose Directors Wisely: It is extremely important to hire a director who you trust will excel at extracting compelling content from unconventional situations, as cricketers may not be seasoned actors. Their authenticity will shine through with the right guidance. A director and his treatment can make or break a film because the actor’s comfort on and offscreen, entire schedule for the day, production budget, etc. everything depends on him and his preferences.

Our dynamic team thrives under pressure, adeptly managing tight schedules and capturing moments with major talents in as little as 20 minutes, at times. All this while orchestrating multiple shoots across different cities amidst the frenetic pace of matches. But what about the Cricketer’s who are juggling between Shoot, Trainings, Prep, Matches, PR, and the list goes on? Hence,

2. Tailor Your Content As Per Cricketers’ Comfort: We need to make sure that we design content that aligns with the cricketer’s comfort zone as well as personality. Remember not all of them are pro in acting and have varied temperaments. Avoid planning scenes or actions that may make the cricketer uneasy.

For eg: something as simple as making cricketers do a dance hook step to keep up with the trends.

Stepping out of one’s comfort zone will surely call for some challenges out of which one would be injuries. The next point is definitely important if you’ve written an absolutely amazing and crazy idea without bearing ground reality in mind.

3. Injuries Concerns: An Athletes’ physical well-being is a top priority for all of us. Hence, while writing ideas, work closely with them to ensure that the shoot does not compromise their health or performance and keeps them away from injuries. Especially if it involves a stunt or a particular action.

For main course, from planning the shooting schedule to executing the nitty gritty nuances, it’s mostly work dedication, pots and pots of coffee and unplanned power naps that ensure a breezy shoot and a strategically thought retreat against the burnout war. Ofcourse, shooting at a fancy & luxurious hotel adds to the motivation as that’s where almost all the cricketing campaigns are shot.

It’s all in a day’s work for our young and enthusiastic team, especially the production guys who are the real unsung heroes. Because cricketers are only available for short window of time. Keep in mind the next point to ensure you don’t miscalculate your schedule.

4. Fixed Shooting Windows with them: Cricketers may have limited availability for shoots, especially during peak training or competition seasons. Make sure to write ideas that are humanly possible for the crew to shoot and the cricketers to deliver. Because there cannot be a scope for reshoot as the cricketers won’t be giving their dates & time again and we’ll miss the bus. Ensure that all of these challenges are addressed during the initial round of call itself to avoid confusion.

For keeping our cricketers fit during such hectic schedules, it’s important to dig on their routines and special nutrition requirements while arranging food and snacks for them.

5. Consider Healthy Set Food & Snacks: Prioritize providing healthy food options on set, tailored to the specific fitness routines of the cricketers. This not only shows respect for their physical well-being but also ensures optimal performance during the shoot.

Shooting ad films for cricket events demands a level of execution that transcends traditional norms (and often beyond). In addition to something that requires finesse, adaptability is a major aspect that we have managed to do smoothly.

6. Navigate Location Challenges: With cricketers, the usual mandate (during tournament season like IPL, World Cup and other similar events) is shooting at the hotels where they are staying. So, anticipate challenges in booking these locations, as all the brands are aligned on shooting during this peak season which leads to unavailability. Sometimes the window to shoot is as less as 20 minutes (like we mentioned) so keep the setups ready & do your rehearsals before they arrive on set.

7. Equipment and Technical Considerations: Always prioritize the technical needs of cricketers. Ensure you have their specific requirements in place, such as the exact kits that they use, the brands that they endorse (and usually prefer wearing on shoots), and any other equipment, to avoid confusion and delays on set.

8. Always prepare contingency plans: During peak season with location challenges, consider shooting indoors as a backup even if the primary plan involves capturing the sportsperson on a field. Producers, having foreseen these challenges, should be able to put forward realistic reasons & solutions for the necessity of creating indoor setups. It saves us from any natural, man-made and other unforeseen challenges outdoors that’ll cost us a lot – time, energy, effort and money.

Eg: Doing a Chroma Key Shoot, Creating a game field set indoors to build resonance of the athlete and their game and not lose the essence of the idea.
