The Challenge

NoBroker tasked us with creating two short social media films focused on their AC servicing and home painting services.

The primary goal was to craft a memorable approach that conveyed the offers humorously while maintaining the scripts’ authenticity within the 20-second duration constraint.

Seamlessly integrating the NoBroker brand into the narrative was also crucial.

The Treatment

For the AC film, we envisioned an absurd yet humorous scenario where a customer comically struggles to accept a ‘FREE AC’ service, while the technician consistently proves the AC’s cooling is perfect.

Inspired by Wes Anderson’s distinctive style, we employed centred framing, saturated colours, and exaggerated, unique characters to create a visually striking and memorable film.

The treatment for the painting film explored the unbelievable nature of the offer through a series of reassurances from a NoBroker executive to the customer’s parents.

This led to a humorous Q&A session set in a homely environment. The treatment was performance-driven, with centred framing and a back-and-forth dynamic between the characters.

The Craft

To enhance the storytelling and visual impact, we focused on several technical aspects.

The cinematography utilised centred framing to create symmetrical, balanced compositions, emphasising the absurdity of the situations. 

Rich, saturated colour tones established an engaging, stylized look, while exaggerated yet nuanced performances from the actors were key to the humour’s success.

Precise editing timing and a dynamic rhythm heightened the comedic beats, supported by sound effects that accentuated the situational humour and absurdity.

Our production approach matched the memorable visuals.

Strategic lighting setups made the figures appear larger-than-life yet grounded.

Stylized yet realistic set dressing brought the distinctive worlds to life, complemented by costumes that aligned with the tones and character personalities.
