The Challenge

Creating a film that showcases the Laptop’s versatility and highlights the full range of functionalities of its 3rd Gen technology in a very modern and dynamic format considering its target audience.

The Treatment

Kinnect came to us with an idea of showcasing the lives of two college students who love to do it all, be it hustling academically or side hustles. But of course, there’s a third entity in their partnership – their Intel Evo laptop that has everything it takes to help them achieve their best.

The idea was to show the story of a girl, Katya, and her college friend, Abbas as they plan out the biggest event of the year – the inter-college fest. The two chief organisers are responsible for branding the fest, coming up with themes and events, picking sponsors, and running a team of department heads.

Katya is the creative one, the leader, the doer and Abbas is the mastermind, the devil’s advocate, the advisor. Not only are they the best partners to each other, they have another tool in their belt – their Evo.

This morning, Katya has come up with a name for the fest – much to her excitement, which means they can finally take their registration site live for participating colleges. This lets us

touch upon all the intelligent collaboration features correctly, while keeping the situation clear, simple, and fun.

The Craft

We approached the film in a dynamic space in terms of camera movement and edit which complemented the exciting journey of Katya and Abbas in the act of putting together the college festival while we show the full range of functionality of the 3rd Gen Intel Evo Laptop.

We portrayed the story of Katya and Abbas as they plan out the biggest event of the year aided with dynamic visual treatment which not only focused on the ease of putting together this strenuous act, while the clock is ticking against them; It also helped us establish how the 3rd Gen Intel Evo is the right tool to unleash infinite possibilities for Gen Z.

We achieved it through camera movement and stylized edit treatment along with graphics integration for highlighting the features and support the narrative.

The music used is upbeat and young which represented the flexible nature of the processor as well as complimented the dynamic visual treatment that we were looking at.

In terms of the look, we kept it a very real space for the film which is global in orientation but at the same time had cultural influences bleeding into it which added to this young creative leader.

In terms of the character development, we chalked down the details of what our protagonist, Katya’s character, personality and lifestyle would be like. She’s a design student in a prestigious design school. She has a busy lifestyle involving spending her time with the design and colour of the world. This has enhanced her way of looking at colours.

Her space has a lot of character and represents the conditioning of a design school does to you but still something that doesn’t overpower her understanding of it; possibly why she’s given the responsibility to organize and design the grand college fest. This would explain her space being cluttered as she is busy prepping. Intel Evo experience actually opens up a world of infinite possibilities even for a conditioned student like her.

The color palette reflects the character’s identity and personality.

Production design wise, keeping in mind the setting that Katya and her classmate Abbas are working from their homes, we took the nuances of their bedroom/ study rooms and converted them into our shoot area.
