MAC turned to us to launch the campaign ‘Get Festive With Shreya Jain’ featuring the beauty influencer Shreya Jain. To replicate the three looks that were created for its individual kit’s photoshoot and capture the beauty shots with the help of light and shadow play to make the films look edgy and stylish.

The Challenge
The Craft
We created a minimalist black limbo space set as we were going to stick around from mid-shots to close-up shots for letting Shreya and the makeup stand out, drawing soft focus on her face. The aim was to clearly spotlight the cosmetic products and its magic when applied.
In the background, we added occasional highlights of tungsten bulbs to create some separation and areas of interest considering that the campaign was going to air during Diwali which stands for being a festival of lights.
We inter-cut the films between Shreya posing to the camera, product application shots and closeups highlighting the kit and its products.
Visually we approached the key shots in a zoomed-in slow-motion way to showcase them sleekly and stylishly. The product shots had edge-lighting to make the kits stand out alternating between seeing the entire kit to individual pieces.
For experiencing the edginess and stylishness of the film, music was going to play a major role and hence we chose a track that is modern, peppy and has a good groove to it so that we could set the upbeat mood of the video right from the beginning.
